Whitefield lose but stay top!

Whitefield (Mark Green 42,Tariq Afridi 7/92) remain top of Divsion 1 despite suffering defeat at an improving Parkfield Liscard (Grant Hughes 125; Mike Keogh 4/36; Matt Keogh 4/37). The defeat allowed Wavertree (Narender Negi 61 & 5/37; Paul Deakin 36; Neil Clarkson 3/14) to close the gap to 3 points as they defeated Maritime (Kasupathey Govu 4/38).

Alder (Mark Brick 28*; Muhammed Masroor 5/11) moved up to 3rd with victory at Moorfield (Terry Buck 27), while Sutton (Joe Harvey 102*; Steve Moss 5/81) slipped to 4th with defeat at Birkehead St Marys (Steve McGenity 120*; Mizan Haque 80; Muhammed Baig 5/84).

Southport Trinity (Wim van der Walt 82; Dominic Butler 37; Kevin Murray 4/25) remain in 5th despite going down to defeat at home to Huyton (Craig Black 97*; Muhammed Zahid 7/66) who move off the bottom.

Norley Hall (Simon Hatch 46*; Richard Jones 3/17) won by 3 wickets and moved above Prescot & Odyssey (Nigel Pearl 35) who have now not won in 5 games.

Caldy (Haroon Khan 88; James Ashcroft 3/23) joined the chasing pack with victory against Haydock (Alistair Brookhouse 31).

Rainhill II move back to the top as Xavs only draw.


Rainhill II (Ryan Hayes 39; Colin Gannon 39; Richard Candeland 4/15) moved back to the top of the division with a convincing victory over Whitefield II (Neil Creamer 28 & 5/96) while in the game of the day Old Xaverians II ( Anthony McDonald 65; Joe Brady 45) couldn't force a win against 3rd placed Caldy II (Phil Luxon 55, Billy Wright 3/29).

Alder II (Duncan Walsh 64; Royal George 6/61) remain in 4th by the narrowest of margins after a 2 run victory against Moorfield II (Steve Buck 59; Joe Bamber 3/37) while Hightown II (Nick Gordon 65; Paul Schofield 3/28) keep up the pace as they won at Prescot & Odyssey II (Bill Ewen 30*; Dean Fairclough 3/41).

The closest game of the day was at Bromborough where Maritime II (Sellathurai Sukuma 17; Shani Ajay 7/17) tied with Rainford II (Mark Brook 39; Dave Fillingham 3/26) as both teams were bowled out for 82.

Birkenhead St Marys II (Geoff Ward 35*; Martin Ford 4/23) were victorious is the Wirral derby at Port Sunlight II (Sean Done 2/10), while in the days basement battle St Helens Recs II (Matthew Fisher 122; Ian Huyton 102*) had an overwhelming win over 7 man Huyton II (Ryan Powell 2/40).
